Mrs. Certain has received her educational training in Middle school grades. Her background in math and science will help our new middle school students do better in school, improve their learning, and help them see how they can help improve the world.

Mrs. Certain incorporates a variety of activities and project to complement in class instruction. Some examples of these activities are:

Students participated in the Duke Energy Invention Convention.

We have taken field trips to Roper Mountain Science Center where we extracted DNA from strawberries.

We use technology daily by working math problems on IXL website, an interactive website that practices math skills. It corrects their answers instantly. If they miss a problem it tells them how to solve the problem.

In addition, the Middle School takes an educational field trip every year. The trip rotates through Washington DC, where they visited other Catholic Churches as well as the Smithsonian Museums. We went to Camp Seaweed, a marine science camp in Charleston. Students learned about  the marsh and marine ecosystems. We also take a trip to Disney World.  Students  go to three educational classes and visit three of the parks while there.

Middle school students presented science experiments and led elementary students in science experiments during Catholic School Week.
